Strawberry Shortcake Dessert

June 25, 2021 3 min read

A classic Italian dessert with fruity flavors, this strawberry tiramisu is the perfect ending to any meal. It is an easy recipe made without eggs, alcohol, and coffee. Using Multo™ by CookingPal® also allows you to make this dessert in just one pot - purée the strawberries and then attach the butterfly whisk to whip the cream filling. Six ingredients, one machine, and dessert made in less than 10 minutes - buonissimo!

How to make Strawberry Tiramisu with Multo™ by CookingPal®?

1. Purée the strawberries.

Multo™ is not only a blender and food processor, but there are also heating elements at the bottom of the bowl used to boil, steam, and sauté food. This ability allows you to pureé the strawberries quickly and effortlessly.

2. Whip the cream by using the Butterfly Whisk.

The Butterfly Whisk is one accessory that comes with Multo™. Simply attach, add the cream, and achieve fluffy, airy whipped cream in no time.

3. Mix yogurt and syrup with the cream.

Set Multo™ to low speed and mix in the yogurt and syrup until fully incorporated with the cream.

4. Layer the tiramisu and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

This is where you get creative. Layer ingredients in the baking dish or glasses and decorate with fruit. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Cooking tips and tricks

  • Keep the cream chilled before whipping it. The fat in chilled dairy emulsifies faster and stay emulsified longer when cold, so this tip will make for a fluffier whipped cream in less time.
  • If possible, choose crispy lady fingers (called Savoiardi in Italian) for this recipe. They will maintain shape and structure and will not get soggy as fast as softer-baked lady fingers.
  • You can substitute other syrups for sweeteners in this recipe. Options include date syrup and maple syrup and serve as a good replacement for those wanting to use a more “natural” sugar in their baking. In addition, syrups like date syrups are packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and fiber - all things desired in a healthy diet.
  • Fresh strawberries are the best option for this recipe. The brighter the color will result in a more intense fruity flavor, along with bringing natural sweetness to the dessert.

What are the variations of Strawberry Tiramisu?

  • If you want a more traditional tiramisu flavor, replace the coulis with espresso or a boozy coffee mixture. Soaking or brushing the lady fingers with these options will result in a stronger coffee flavor.
  • Mascarpone cheese is an ingredient in Italian tiramisu and can be a great substitute for the yogurt in this recipe. Thanks to its higher percentage of butterfat, mascarpone cheese will bring a creamy texture and rich flavor to the filling.
  • Replace or add different fresh fruits to the recipe. Good alternatives are raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and peaches. These not only bring their natural fruit flavors but also add a pop of color to its presentation.
