They're the quintessential side dish for any holiday meal, but these creamy and cheesy mashed potatoes are even better than the ones you remember from childhood.
Ingredients
28 OZ / 800 G potatoes
3.5 OZ / 100 ML milk
2 OZ / 50 G butter
5.5 OZ / 150 G sharp cheddar cheese
1 PINCH salt
1 PINCH pepper
26.5 OZ / 750 ML water
Directions
Cube your cheese, then add to the mixing bowl. With the measuring cup inserted, chop your cheese for 15 seconds / speed 8. Once done, remove from the mixing bowl and reserve for later. Clean out the bowl well.
Pour water into the mixing bowl. Peel, wash and halve the potatoes. Add the potatoes to the simmering basket. Steam the potatoes using the steam function for 30 minutes.
Remove the simmering basket and remove the water from the mixing bowl. Add the potatoes back to the mixing bowl, along with the milk, butter and the reserved cheese. Mix the potato for 6 seconds / speed 6.
Season with pepper and salt. Serve while it is still hot. Enjoy your dish! You can try using different varieties of cheese for this recipe.
